The symbol of Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University

The symbol of Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University is composed of the Octagonal Throne, the Discus (Chakra), in the middle of which is the symbolic letter “Unalome” insignia. Around the Chakra Discus, there are rays radiating all around. Above the Chakra Discus is the Seven-Tiered Umbrella over the Octagonal Throne meaning that His Majesty the King has sovereign power in the realm, for at the Coronation Ceremony His Majesty sat upon the Octagonal Throne and received consecrated water from the eight cardinal points in accordance with ancient Royal custom which for the first time was presented by Members of Parliament instead of Royal pundits.

Orange represents the prosperity of local art and culture.
White represents the pure thought of wisdom of His Majesty.

University Buddha Image

Phra Phuttha Sridvaravati Sirirajabhat was built in 2002 by modeling Phra Sila Khao (enshrined in the Southern Vihara of Phra Pathomchedi Temple). Phra Sila Khao is a 1,500-year-old dvaravati statue depicting Buddha giving the first sermon to disciples. This sacred Buddha image, locally known as “Luang Pho Phrathan Phon”, has been the most hallowed thing for Nakhon Pathom people. It was unearthed at the abandoned Thung Phra Meru Temple, located in the southeast of Phra Pathomchedi and King Rama V ordered to house Phra Sila Khao at Phra Pathomchedi Temple since 1861. Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat Universaity (Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat Institute at that time) built the copy image of Phra Sila Khao to house at the main gate of the University and gave the name “Phra Phuttha Sridvaravati Sirirajabhat”. , with unknown reason the image has been divided and kept in various places. In 1967 Department of Fine Arts successfully assembled all the fragments of the image and gave to the temple of Phra Pathommachedi.

Bougainvillea
     History and General Information : Bougainvillea was first discovered in Brazil by the French botanist, about AD 1766-1769, and has been used to grow in various parts of the world from Europe, North America and Asia. In Thailand, the bougainvillea varieties have come from Singapore, first as MD. Reign in 2423. There are at least five varieties of bougainvillea in a foreign country. The bougainvillea grows well in Thailand. The mutations cause a lot of varieties.
     Botanical Characteristics : Bougainvillea is a woody shrub of the semi-trailer. Size varies from small shrubs to large shrubs. Thorny stems leaves are broken up by twigs or switches with the same indentation. Hairy covering up a little. Green or leaf spot. Pointed oval shape, 3-6 cm wide, 2-3 cm long bract appearance. Each heart shaped or oval leaves are 3-5 colors such as purple, red, pink, orange, blue, yellow and more. Complete with flowers as male gender and a bouquet of flowers, axillary or terminal, with three branches, each flower is 1-2 cm long tube.
